New Outdoor Display Service from ford + barley
This year ford + barley exhibitions, the shell scheme suppliers for the Showman’s Show 2007, launched their new outdoor event display service ‘f+b events’ which had a baptism of fire (in a great deal of rain!) at Hillhead 2007 the International Quarrying & Recycling Show.
Hillhead is a bi-annual show held inside a large working stone quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire. ford +barley was asked to construct a suitable weatherproof viewing facility with an outdoor deck for a pig roast and covered V.I.P. hospitality areas. Normally at this event held at the end of June one would expect to have fine weather but this year was totally different!
Andy Metcalf, f+b events Project Director, said: “Before the show we had no idea what the weather was going to do. It was sunny and hot while we were building but just before the show the weather pattern changed and we experienced tremendous downpours with high winds. Sean Beavers, our designer, got it exactly right with the outdoor construction, which withstood some very serious weather and at the same time provided a suitable environment for our clients to view the exhibits properly and in comfort.”

ford + barley events provide a whole range of services including temporary structures, exterior displays, covered areas, decking, generators, electrical installations, site toilets and signage for events throughout Europe. Visit them in the Exhibition Hall at the Showman’s Show 2007.
