MUTA

MUTA – the professional trade association that represents hirers, manufacturers and suppliers within the temporary structures industry – is looking forward to joining their industry colleagues at the 2009 Showman’s Show.

MUTA represents over 200 marquee contractors, manufacturers and suppliers of all sizes. The companies within the MUTAmarq scheme subscribe to our Code of Practice and submit to an annual independent site inspection programme to ensure good safety standards. The Health and Safety Executive supports our work and increasing numbers of venues and event organisers are making MUTAmarq accreditation a requirement of their contractors.

So far, it’s been an extremely busy and productive year for MUTA’s commitment to upholding and raising standards throughout the temporary structures industry. The effects of the global financial crisis have not escaped the event industry, which has faced and will continue to face real challenges. However, MUTA is determined to ensure that these challenges do not impact on the high standards that their members have set and that their accreditation signifies.  MUTA is working with their members and stakeholders to ensure that the pressures of the recession will not lead to compromise on quality or safety.  MUTA is proud to say that more than 24 of their members will be exhibiting at the Show, so look out for the MUTA logo at their stands!

One of the Association’s biggest projects this year has been the MUTAmarq Development Programme.  MUTA expanded its training provision in autumn 2008 when it launched the Level 2 NVQ in Team Leading to complement the Level 3 NVQ in Temporary Structures.  The new course has now borne fruit and at The Showman’s Show this year MUTA will be celebrating the success of 25 candidates from the 2008/09 intake who have completed their Level 2 award along with the achievement of 14 candidates who completed their Level 3 award this year.  MUTA is inviting the candidates to the stand on Thursday at midday for a photocall and they will also be looking forward to the successful Level 2 candidates continuing to the Level 3 course, as well as enrolling the 2009/10 intake of candidates.

Come and join MUTA at MUTA HQ at stand 156 on Avenue B to meet members of their Executive Committee and talk over recent MUTA practice, news and developments. Refreshments will be flowing, so sit down, read through the current MUTA literature and get a feel of what the organisation can offer you and your company.  If you do sign up to become a MUTA member at The Showman’s Show MUTA is offering a one-off opportunity to get free membership to the end of the year.  As well as demonstrating to potential clients that you subscribe to the highest health and safety standards, MUTA membership will help you ensure that the events that everyone cares about so passionately about are always remembered for the right reasons.  The MUTA team look forward to talking to you at the Show!
