The Arena Group 'Back in Black'

This year’s Showman’s Show saw the Arena Group ‘back in black’ showcasing their black roofed Roma Structure with wheelchair user’s platform, Spaceworks furniture hire and VIP diplomat conference seating.

The innovations of Arena Seating, part of the Arena Group, are often described as ‘ground-breaking’, ‘ground measuring’ is a more accurate description of the company’s latest investment, a state-of-the art surveying system which uses GPS and satellite technology to provide millimetre-accurate surveys of event sites.

The UK’s leading event seating supplier has invested in a Leica GPS 1200+ surveying system, increasingly used in the construction industry, to offer wide-ranging benefits to clients and project managers.  The system does away with tape measures and event laser technology, using a hi-tech staff, linked to GPS and GLONASS satellites, to survey with unrivalled speed and accuracy.

The system means an event site survey can be carried out in a single visit, saving on time, cost and environmental footprint.  The GPS measures site levels as well as distances, creating a 3D map of a terrain which can be imported directly into CAD drawings, allowing structures and materials to be specified far more quickly and effectively.

The new Leica GPS survey system gives us extra efficiency in every area.” says Joe O’Neill, Arena Seating’s Managing Director.  “It reduces our carbon footprint on site visits and logistical operations and allows us to keep costs to the client low by introducing efficiencies in our operation.  In addition, we can extend this service to the entire event, beyond the areas serviced by the Arena Group.
